First Day - Friday - Costa del Sol/Algeciras/Tangier/Rabat
Early departure by motor-coach to Algeciras (120 kms) to board the ferry crossing the Straits
of Gibraltar to Tangier (one and a half hours). On arrival on leaving passport control we have
a panoramic city tour. We continue directly to Rabat with a brief stop en route (280 kms).
Dinner and overnight stay.
Second Day - Saturday - Rabat/Casablanca/Marrakech
After breakfast a city tour of Rabat will show the exquisite Tower of Hassan (XII
c.), the busy Kasbah and the imposing Royal Palace from the exterior. Visit the
Mohamed 5th Mausoleum and the ruins of the old Mosque. Continue to Casablanca
for a panoramic tour of this cosmopolitan city with a visit to the exterior of the
Hassan II Mosque and then on to Marrakech.
Third Day - Sunday - Marrakech/Fez
Breakfast is followed by a panoramic tour of the red city including the Saadian
Tombs (XVIth c.), El Bahia Palace, the Jewish quarter, the Koutoubia Minaret and
the Medina. At the Djemaa El Fna Square we will see the snake charmers, acrobats,
water sellers and scribes writing letters for the illiterate. We depart for Fez, with
an optional lunch en route, arriving for dinner and an overnight stay.
Fourth Day - Monday - Fez
After breakfast there is a guided tour of the first imperial city of Morocco, founded
in the IXth century. Visit the Jewish and Christian quarters, the Royal Palace (from
the outside), the Medina (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO) with its
mosques and university, the Nejarine fountain and the Tanners Quarters. Lunch is a
the hotel. An overnight stay in Fez with the option of "Fantasia dinner chez Ali" - an
evening of expert horsemanship, Berber dancing and local delicacies - dining in the
traditional Moroccan style.
Fifth Day - Tuesday - Fez/Ceuta/Algeciras/Costa del Sol
Departure after breakfast for Larache, stopping for an optional lunch, then continue
320km to Ceuta. Upon arrival at Ceuta there will be some free time for shopping
before catching the Ferry to Algeciras and then the coach 120km to the Costa del
Sol.
Hotels and itinerary can be subject to change although alternative hotels will always
be of a similar or higher category. Citizens of European Union, USA, Canada, Japan
and many other nationalities are exempt from a visa for entry into Morocco but a
valid passport will always be required.
