First Day - Sunday - Costa del Sol/Algeciras/Ceuta/Fez
Early departure by motor-coach to Algeciras (120 kms) to board the ferry crossing
the Straits of Gibraltar to Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa (approx 1 hour).
Continuing to the Moroccan border and passing through passport control. From
there proceeding directly to Fez (300km) with a brief stop en route.
Second Day - Monday - Fez
After breakfast there is a guided tour of the first imperial city of Morocco, founded in the
IXth century. Visit the Jewish and Christian quarters, the Royal Palace (from the outside), the
Medina (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO) with its mosques and university, the
Nejarine fountain and the Tanners Quarters. In the afternoon there is a panoramic tour and
some free time for shopping. Remaining in Fez for dinner and an overnight stay.
Third Day - Tuesday - Fez/Meknes/Beni Mellal/Marrakech
Departing after breakfast for Meknes with a panoramic tour of the city, then onto Khenifra
crossing over the Middle Atlas Mountains. With an optional lunch in Beni-Mellal we continue
on to Marrakech where we have dinner and an overnight stay.
Fourth Day - Wednesday - Marrakech
Breakfast is followed by a panoramic tour of the red city including Menara gardens,
the Saadian Tombs (XVIth c.), El Bahia Palace, the Jewish quarter and the Koutoubia
Minaret. After optional lunch there is free time for shopping in the Medina. At the
Djemaa El Fna Square we will see the snake charmers, acrobats, water sellers and
scribes writing letters for the illiterate. An overnight stay in Marrakech with the
option of "Fantasia dinner chez Ali" - an evening of expert horsemanship, Berber
dancing and local delicacies - dining in the traditional Moroccan style.
Fifth Day - Thursday - Marrakech/Casablanca/Rabat
Departing after breakfast for Casablanca with a brief stop in Settat. Upon arrival
there is a panoramic tour of this cosmopolitan city, with a visit to the exterior of
the Hassan II Mosque. Continue on to Rabat, the Capital of the Kingdom for dinner
and an overnight stay.
Sixth Day - Friday - Rabat/Tangier
After breakfast a city tour of Rabat will show the exquisite Tower of Hassan (XII c.), the
busy Kasbah and the imposing Royal Palace from the exterior. Visit the Mohamed 5th
Mausoleum and the ruins of the old Mosque. Continuing to Tangier via Larache, there is a
panoramic tour upon arrival followed by dinner and an overnight stay.
Seventh Day - Saturday - Tangier/Ceuta/Algeciras/Costa del Sol
Departure after breakfast for Ceuta there will be some free time for shopping before
catching the Ferry to Algeciras and then the coach 120km to the Costa del Sol.
The Fifth Day can either have an overnight stay in either Casablanca or Rabat. Sightseeing tours
of both cities are guaranteed. Hotels and itinerary can be subject to change although alternative
hotels will always be of a similar or higher category. Citizens of European Union, USA, Canada,
Japan and many other nationalities are exempt from a visa for entry into Morocco but a valid
passport will always be required.
