Our First Stop is Europa Point, on a clear day you can see the North African
coast on the other side of the Straits of Gibraltar. You can also see
the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, a Spanish occupied territory in Morocco.
Leaving Europa Point we make our way to the upper Rock via old Lathbury
Barracks. Along the way you have breathtaking views of the Bay of
Gibraltar.
The Second Stop is St. Michael's
Cave, a very large
cave with stalactites and stalagmites, dating back millions of years. This
cave, once a temporary hospital during the Second World War, is now
a tourist attraction and a natural auditorium. Leaving the caves and just
a short drive away, we will arrive at Gibraltar's most famous site - the
Apes Den.
Our Third Stop is the Apes
Den. Here you will be able to meet the famous apes. In Gibraltar there
are six packs of apes numbering in total around 250. The apes are very
friendly creatures, but please remember that they are wild animals so, do
not feed or touch the apes.
After visiting the apes we travel north towards the old northern defences
of Gibraltar, known as the Upper Galleries.
Our Fourth Stop is the Upper Galleries, where you can see the man
made tunnels that defended Gibraltar during the Great Siege 1779-1783.
From the Galleries we will make our way down to the town, passing the
Moorish Castle, Old Town Calpe and along Queensway. The driver will
stop at the Market Place which is the entrance to the Main Street shopping
area.
